• This Monster girl is based on the Alraune (German for Mandrake), from a novel by German writer Hanns Heinz Ewers published in 1911. It is also the name of the female lead character.
• Members of the alraune family can pull up the roots of their flowers if they want/need to move about (source: KC’s notes on the barometz).
• Due to the above, the husbands of alraune family monsters can even hold desk jobs, though their wives may distract them (source: Personal communication with Kenkou).
• Sexual experiences cause an alraune to have her nectar "ripen" which enhances all its normal effects. This is why honey bees make sure to stimulate an unmarried alraune while collecting her nectar, and since the ripened nectar works even better at attracting men, the alraune allows the fondling (source: World Guide 2 Alraune Nectar article).
• By adjusting the size and shape of their flower and the angle of the petals, alraune monsters can sit down as if on a couch or lie down like on a bed, in short they are not stuck in a standing position. (source: Kenkou's 2015 Ask.fm page).
• The humanoid portion of an alraune is similar to that of a sandworm in that it must remain connected to the flower, but the attachment point can change. Normally their feet are buried in the soft bottom of the flower, but they can raise one foot without issue. By changing the attachment point to another part of their body, they can even lift both feet to wrap them around their husband's waist. (source: Personal communication with Kenkou).
