Long ago, before the rise of the new Mamono Overlord, when the Order still had full control over humanity, there was a nation. It was located right at the far corner of the human territories, away from the lands dominated by monsters. The nation was a vast exporter of wealth thanks to its access to the sea, resource rich mountains, and fertile farmland. But all this came as a double-edged sword, for the Order was no different than it is now. It's priests and senators exploited its wealth. They claimed it was for the war against monsters, but much like any corrupt people, the majority of the wealth only went towards their own personal luxuries. As such, the country was drained of its resources. Its people starved and were forced to live in slums while those in power lived like kings. To make matters worse, the people were forced to follow many religious laws, and even making one tiny mistake would send one straight to the chopping block. If one were compared this nation to Lescatie before it was taken over, it would've been hard to tell them apart. Such were the conditions of many nations that were under the influence of the Order, those that were useful were harshly exploited and those that weren't were left to their own devices. But the people had no choice but to comply, for it was better than being eaten by monsters, but this nation was different. (I will continue this later, got to go to work now.)
