Historia of the Illaster Saga Canon

((Author's note: Due to Monster Girls Redux being temporarily inaccessible, I will be brainstorming here to do my storywriting. The only things I have left is the mental notes in my head, my imagination, some notes on my iPad and iPhone, some art content, and the MGE content on this wiki. I will delete this section once the Redux is restored.))

Before the Illaster Saga

Halcyon (Born Lancel) leaves the Kingdom Migdal Bavel with Lanselos family to avoid an arranged marriage to Princess Antonia of the royal family of Aurelianum. He was only 10. Parents die in the voyage and Halcyon works as a sailor's apprentice. In Harbarray Bay, he abandoned the sailor career and is adopted by clergywoman Barbara.From age 11 to 12, Halcyon grows up in Harbarray Bay to become a bard, and he eventually is gifted a Griffon's egg. He saves a mermaid named Moroca from some children from the Order; he developed a relationship with Moroca. He develops an ability to gain information from posture, facial expressions, gestures, and other physical characteristics. When Halcyon become 13, Barbara sees great potential in Halcyon and encourages him to go to Lescatie. Halcyon is gifted Moroca's mermaid blood and a pearl. He vows to return to meet her. By the time Halcyon leaves, the griffon egg hatches and Barbara raises her with the name Charlene.

It takes two years for Halcyon to travel to Lescatie, he is ambushed by a band of Goblins led by a Hobgoblin named Lae-Lae. A Salamander named Seraphina come to his aid after seeing him fight. After being saved, Halcyon ends up challenged by Seraphina who guides him to a monster-tolerant territory. Here, he duels Seraphina and he defeats her in a brain-vs-brawn strategy. Seraphina would end up falling in love with Halcyon. Halcyon turns her down and ends up leaving her for Lescatie.

In Lecsatie, he consumes the mermaid's blood and gains longevity to avoid it's confiscation. He is brought to Father Noscrim (Priest Noscrim) and given his blessing to train as a Hero. Barbara vouched for Halcyon and he gains the respect of various Lescatians including the Lescatian Royal Family. Two years and he is baptized as a Hero of Lescatie, but is requested by Father Noscrim to spend three years with other mentors in teaching a young Wilmarina Noscrim. He also go on missions across Lescatie.

Halcyon, age 20, see Wilmarina become baptized as more Legendary Hero of Lescatie and honored with Orufoyu. He would end up being the top drill instructor for Lescatian military and a traveling Hero that the people can look up to (though his reputation is overshadowed by Wilmarina's massive and sudden reputation).

The Illaster Chronicles

Overtime, Halcyon dabbles in the lives of Wilarina, Elt ([You]), and the Maidens (minus Amanomiya). Months later, he learns of the tragedy between Wilmarina and Elt and plans to secretly wed them with the help of Sasha, Mimil, Primera, and Mersé. He also wants to help and ill Francisa see her old friends again. Signs of a split between Halcyon and Father Noscrim forms.

However, Lescatie's fall makes his plans fall apart, and he tries to evacuate as many Lescatians as possible. He ends up meeting Wilmarina and discover the dreaded fate. He fights Wilmarina and barely escapes. He has told Father Noscrim to escape and evacuate Lescatians, but doesn't know if he did so.

A year later, he finds a temporary home for the Lescatians that he saved. He is able to save some of his students, some veterans, and civilians. He participates in the retaking of Lescatie with Amanomiya, but leads a tactical retreat that the Order declares as heresy and desertion.

Halcyon looses faith in the Order and the old ways of humanity. "Humanity must change." He ignites a rebellion and established the Shinar Concordat between Lescatian refugees and the defeated soldiers of the Retaking.

Three years pass, and Halcyon takes three territories and plans to take a Kingdom called Ferrestone. He is allied with Zipangu monk Masakado and his Chochin Obake companion Chinatsu, and Snowy Region warrior Embla. Halcyon is confronted with Seraphina again and reconciles his relationship with her; they make love once and he risks his temptation into an incubus. The issue of letting Mamano join the cause is an issue.

In Ferrestone, he takes the Order Knight Maria as hostage and finds a little girl (who was disguised as a boy) named Milvivian who carries a striking resemblance to Wilmarina. It turns out Milvivan is of House Noscrim from an off shoot branch. Halcyon frees Milvivian and offers her a place in the Concordat as a way to rebuild her life; she accepts on the condition that she becomes a Hero. Halcyon accepts. Milvivian gifts him with Silver Cross, one of her family possessions. Gremlins and Dwarves from Ferrestone ally with the Concordat.

Three years pass and Milvivian is given the best education and training that Wilmarina could've had. She is given better treatment and never pushed or forced. She is able to swing a sword and learn magic (She prefer fire magic over the traditional ice magic of her family lineage). Halcyon performs a graduation ceremony in Linaeac. Milvivian graduates and is baptized as a Hero.

Wilmarina and Primera lead Lescatians to take Linaeac without a fight. Primera's warning shot causes a siege (Likely Druella's doing). Halcyon is wounded by an arrow, but hasn't turned for some reason. He and Seraphina confront Wilmarina and fight. Chinatsu sacrifices herself to try and defeat Wilmarina but the sacrifice is in vain. Wilmarina critically wounds Halcyon and Seraphina tries to protect him; Wilmarina cuts Seraphina down and slowly corrupts her. Halcyon mentally drifts away in defeat as Wilmarina uses Orufoyus to take Linaeac.

Halcyon then finds himself in an unknown realm with an unknown Knight. The Knight reveals to Halcyon that the Silver Cross hold a power called "Invictus," and that it can stop the Demon Lord's plans and oppose the Chief God. It can bring balance. "My work is now yours," the Knight tells Halcyon. Halcyon fully heals himself and the cross become a gauntlet.

Halcyon awakes back in the chaos in Linaeac. He deals with Primera first and then uses the gauntlet to undo the transformations and drain the Mamano energy present. His gauntlet counters Wilmarina's Orufoyu and he leads a counterattack. Primera and the Lescatians retreat and Wilmarina is captured. He is able to save everyone in Linaeac including Seraphina.

Halcyon exchanges Wilmarina for guns, books written by the Wandering Scholar, and the Wandering Scholar himself (though it turns out he has left Lescatie). Halcyon meets Sasha, Amanomiya, the two orphan, Luciana, and Vermut. Halcyon and Wilmarina stand behind their visions of a better world, establishing a rift between former student and teacher, both friends.

Another year passes, the guns are put to good use with the help of the Gremlins of Ferrestone. They also introduce the steam engine that can produce more energy with little fuel input. A madman introduced the gliders as a possible form of flight. These contributions lead to the creation of a glider brigade, a special musketeer unit, and an ironclad fleet. It changes the traditions of war. Halcyon accepts a marriage proposal from Seraphina who has been trying her best to be more sophisticated. The gauntlet is able to allow mamano to join the cause. The Shinar Concordat is able to grow into a special rebellion state but they have yet to gain notoriety with other nations or the Order of the Chief God.

Barbara sends a letter to Halcyon to come to the Commonwealth of Harbarray Bay for it is under Order occupation. Halcyon plans to take Harbarray Bay as the place for him and Seraphina to wed. This is an opportunity.

Maria join the Concordat after being cut off by the Chief God for questioning. Halcyon prepares a campaign to take Harbarray Bay, but learns that Lescatie has an expedition on the move to that Commonwealth. He falters in despair at first, but then plans to try and get ahead thank to Seraphina and the devotion of his rebellion.

When they come to Harbarray Bay, they are able to form a beachhead and later a strong presence thanks to Mamano rebellions. Halcyon leads Milvivian, Maria and a Seraphina (who disguises herself as a human fire mage) and a reconnaissance team into Harbarray Bay itself to investigate. Halcyon reunites with Barbara who introduces Charlene, and the griffon's introduction leaves Seraphina jealous. Barbara also reveals to Halcyon that Moroca turned to seafoam, dying from a broken heart.

Halcyon revisits the cove where he have made occasional visits to Moroca. He discovers that Poseidon has resurrect her into a Sea Bishop and claims to no longer be bound to him by love. He wants her to wed him and Seraphina when the battle is over (and ignore Mamano traditions).

Halcyon meets with Barbara and reveals his feelings for Wilmarina (and others), and he is mentally torn apart by this. He wants to move on, and Barbara warns him that he would need to confess this to Wilmarina and move on. He struggles to do this

A festival opens in Harbarray Bay, Seraphina and Halcyon enjoy a bit of the celebration. They find a Medallion. They are confronted by Order Knights and end up hiding in a warehouse. In the warehouse, Halcyon and Seraphina have a small fight with Wilmarina and (surprisingly) Elt. They eventually team up to get out of the mess and to the safety of the ports. There, they play a bit of music that gets the public's attention. They are brought to Father Noscrim who is reveal to have fake his disappearance to spend years rebuilding his family house and his power. He is able to capture all reconnaissance in Harbarray Bay, both the Concordat and the Lescatie expedition. He intends to create a new Lescatie and use Milvivian as a new Wilmarina, declaring his disowning of his own daughter. He has gone mad with grief and power.

Halcyon is able to set everyone free and get everyone out of Harbarray Bay. Charlene and Barbara assist in the escape. Seraphina thanks Charlene and tries to get along with her.

Soon the Concordat proceed with laying siege to Harbarray Bay and are able to turn the capital against Father Noscrim and his Order forces. Soon the Lescatian expedition arrives and the Concordat rally the city against them. Halcyon uses the gauntlet of Sir Galath and delivers a miracle, summoning a pillar of fire to stop the Mamano advances.

Halcyon leads a band into the only castle in Harbarray Bay. Wilmarina personally leads Vermut, Luciana, and Salvarision knights to the castle to fight Halcyon's band. Halcyon chases after Father Noscrim, but Wilmarina stands in his way. Halcyon and Wilmarina fight and it's reveal that Wilmarina is at breaking limit to the point of hating humans. Seraphina enters the fray, saves Halcyon and fights along side him. Wilmarina is restrained and Halcyon shows mercy — she is prisoner once more.

Halcyon confront Father Noscrim and reveals his own progress to the mad priest. Halcyon defeats Father Noscrim and damns him for the wrong doings towards Elt and Wilmarina. Halcyon executes him and eventually finds a key. He searches his quarters and finds a parcel and letter.

The Battle for Harbarray Bay is over, the Concordat wins.

Halcyon has a captured Wilmarina, Luciana, and Vermut meet with him at the docks. He presents the parcel and letter to Wilmarina which reveal to be an old pendant and a grieving apology letter. He tries to attempt to undo Wilmarina's transformation and look into her troubles, but he discovers that the old human Wilmarina was right in front of him all this time. "Why can't you just let me be happy, Halcyon?"

Halcyon spares Wilmarina and her knights, but he also takes this chance to confess his love to Wilmarina. "But you have Elt. As long as you're happy. I'm happy to." Halcyon finally moves on.

Halcyon exchanges Wilmarina to the Lescatian force. He finally meets the Seven Princesses of Lescatie: Merse, Mimil, Sasha and her oprhans, Francisca, Amanomiya, and Primia. In exchange for hostages, an armstice is formed along with two-year period of no expeditions and expansions.

During a Groom's party with Masakado and Milvivian, Milvivian finds another cross.

Halcyon marries Seraphina the next year, inviting Lescatians to watch while there is peace. Halcyon and Seraphina vow to continue working together and lead the Shinar Concordat.
