As some of you might be aware by now, the wiki will be undergoing a pretty big move soon™. To summarise this action: We're removing all official (i.e. anything not user created) ''Monster Girl Encyclopedia'' franchise content from this old website (www.monstergirlencyclopedia.wikia.com) and moving it over to our new website [http://mgewiki.com/w/Main_Page www.mgewiki.com].

A number of reasons but the two biggest ones are:
* The ability to control what is and is not allowed on the site per our own content policy. Wikia sells itself as a family friendly site and as such, disallows posting of ''any'' explicit content (both written and image content) which is an obvious problem for us. Remaining willfully ignorant to the rules worked until the site's popularity grew large enough that Wikia staff members took notice and began to enforce their content policy.<br>
* Greater fundamental control over the platform and how the content is presented to users. Wikia is a for-profit organisation and as such, must make decisions that prioritise capital gain which often leads to increased burden on users such as: inability to access accurate metrics on site usage, forcibly being served advertisements that can hamper/disable the site, increasingly bloated site structure, etc.

: The previous site has always had a large fanfiction and roleplay setting which will be turned into it's new, primary focus. Character profiles and fanfiction posts will be permitted onto the main space and image uploading rules will be relaxed to allow users to fully engage with the FF/RP community. Once all the franchise material and fan artwork has been transferred and properly set-up on this new site, it will be removed from the old Wikia and mainspace pages will be opened up.

: It's been happening for months behind the scenes. If you visit the new site, you'll notice that the large majority of the content has already been transferred and re-formatted to fit our new [http://mgewiki.com/w/Project:Standards_and_Practices standards and practices]. You might have also noticed that some content pages have begun to disappear on this site (e.g. [[Wilmarina]], [[Corruption Fruit]], [[Melting Vegetable]]) which is part of the transition. Any content page deleted from this Wiki has been preserved in full and is available on the new site. The process is ongoing.

'''Do I need to register a new account?'''
: Only if you want to protect your IP address and plan to make edits to the new site. Since the new host has no ties to Wikia, your account doesn't exist yet and won't be transferable. Along with that, not everyone will need a new account as some people only ever intend to roleplay for post fanfiction which is all being done over here. If you have no intention of making edits to franchise/canon material then you won't need a new account.
