==Encyclopedia Entry:==
A type of monster that lives in the ocean and has a lower body resembling octopus tentacles. Many individuals have personalities that are strong-willed, and a little bit ferocious. They attack ships travelling at sea, stealing food and men. They possess the ability to hide in tiny crevices which one wouldn’t think they’d be able to fit in. While they have a strong side, they also have a cowardly nature as well. Because of this, when danger approaches they hide in those kinds of crevices. Also, they’ve been known to use such crevices as hiding places from which to launch sudden tentacle attacks on men who happen to be passing by, so be wary.

When they find a man who strikes their fancy, they manipulate their 8 tentacles to seize him and force intercourse for the purpose of bearing offspring. They love sticking their bodies all over men’s bodies. In order to bring their bodies as close together as possible, they coil all of their tentacles around the man’s body, sucking on him with their powerful suction cups and not letting go. Even after intercourse is finished, they don’t necessarily separate from their men, and it’s said that it isn’t uncommon for them to spend a day joined together like this.

They share the same environment with a monster called “[[Charybdis]],” and were even though to be a set for some time. While the ships are stopped by the whirling tides generated by charybdis, they take men away from the ships, and also go after the men spat out by the charybdis. Besides hanging out around charybdis’ nesting holes, they prefer lurking in small spaces, so they often go into charybdis’ nesting holes to seek shelter. For that reason, the scylla are extremely friendly towards the charybdis, however, the charybdis resent them for stealing the men they go after, and for sneaking into their nesting holes when they’re right in the middle of having sex with their husbands.

A variety of [[slime]] adapted to life in the sea. Although it is classified as a semiliquid type like other slimes, its form is fixed and cannot be changed freely. It is able to use its skirt-like bell for swimming, but it prefers to drift about underwater, letting the current carry it.

While they do wash ashore on rare occasions, a sea slime is more likely to be encountered when she becomes tangled in a human fisherman’s nets. Either way, once a sea slime finds a human mate nearby, she will try to tempt him into having sex with her. She seldom needs to chase her target; fishermen on a long sea journey tend to be starved for female affection and are unlikely to resist her charms. Sea Slimes are docile beings especially while having sex. However, once a man gives into temptations, she will not allow him to stop prematurely. Should he try to pull away, countless tentacles will emerge from beneath her bell to inject him with paralytic poison. She will then continue to have sex with her immobilized lover, and will not release him until she is satisfied or he faints from exhaustion.

Like her land-based cousins, a sea slime’s main food is human semen. Any energy she doesn’t need is stored within her bell. When it accumulates to a certain level, division occurs, and an infant sea slime emerges from beneath the bell.

A fish type monster that lives in the ocean. Also called “ningyo.” They have one of the most gentle dispositions of all of the monsters. They never aggressively attack humans, and are a very friendly race.

Most of them are hopeless romantics, and they’re always waiting for the man who will become their husband. They appear at beaches and on top of reefs, and dreaming of their yet unseen “princes,” they sing in a beautiful voice. Their singing voices contain magical power, and men who hear their songs are completely charmed. They get dizzy and are drawn back to them, and then they end up having a destined meeting with them as their “princes.” They’re not a race that aggressively attacks humans like other monsters, however, once they do get a man, they’re aggressive about sex and use their monstrous bodies to charm him. They'll strongly charm the man and will probably never let him go.

Also, their “mermaid’s blood” has the effect of dramatically increasing the lifespan. It is said that it has this function to make a man’s lifespan match her own because a mermaid’s lifespan is longer than a human’s. Without exception, their husbands will be made to drink this blood.

Furthermore, because of the effect of the “mermaid’s blood,” it is in extremely high demand among humans seeking eternal youth and longevity, and other monsters who need to extend the lives of their husbands in the same way. The merrow of the same mermaid family is actually the main source of traded mermaid blood, and its blood is in high circulation among the monsters. However, among the humans it is quite rare, so there are many humans who are after mermaids for their blood.
